The Gods of Thunder: A Comparative Study of Indra, Zeus and Thor

Recently i came across something quite interesting, let me share it with you

So, who is Zeus? Zeus is a Greek god. He is the god of thunder and, according to Greek mythology, he fought with a great sea monster and killed it, thus saving the world. He is also known as god of thunder and the killer of this great sea monster. In the ancient Indian Vedic pantheon, there is the great god Indra (also known as king of gods) who was the most powerful god. He was the god of thunder and fought the great serpent Vritra, destroying it and thus saving the world. Vritra had encircled the oceans and the world was no longer able to access the water of the oceans. So, this great serpent, or dragon, had to be slain. Indra, the heroic and powerful thunder god, fought this dragon and destroyed it, earning the title of the "destroyer of Vritra".

This is a theme that is seen throughout the Indo-European world, with a great thunder god who is also a hammer god and who destroys a great sea serpent.

I'm gonna answer that right now

There was a great battle during Vedic times, known as the Battle of the Ten Kings/ Dasarajana Yuddh (दाशराज्ञ युद्ध) mentioned in Rig veda. In this battle, the Bharata king Sudas defeated a coalition of other Vedic clans, expelling them from the Indian subcontinent and forcing them to go into exile westwards. These clans include the Part Parshwa, who became the Persians, the Bhrigu, who became the Phrygians and eventually lived in Anatolia, and the Alina clan, who became the Hellenic people. The Alina clan of Rigvedic Aryans, or regular people, had to migrate westwards, go into exile and never came back. Eventually, the Hellenic people gave rise to a nation called Hellas, which is the Greek version of Greece. They speak the Hellenic languages and are the descendants of the Alina clan of Rigvedic people.

To answer the question, they did not steal the Indian gods from us. These were also their gods, they moved westwards and continued their traditions. They did not give up their gods, they just gave the language, which eventually transformed into something different. This is how all Indo-European languages emerged from one ancient primordial language. The westward expansion or expulsion of these Rigvedic clans gave rise to all the different branches of Indo-European peoples. The Alinas became the Hellenic people and that's why Zeus is essentially the same as Indra

And the Romans absorbed this culture and the pantheon of gods from the Greeks. The Romans did not make any bones about the fact that they were taking culture from the Greeks. Right, the Romans did not have a great culture of their own, they were great conquerors. So, they conquered Greece and absorbed their culture. So, Zeus, also known as Zeus Peter, became Jupiter in Rome. That's how it went. And there is another thunder god, another hammer god who destroyed a snake. He is the Viking god Thor, and that is again the same pattern. If you see, Indra has two main weapons: one is the mace or the hammer and the other is the thunderbolt, the vajra.

Even the mace is called the vajra, so Indra's weapons are the vajra in physical form, which is the mace or the hammer, and the vajra in the form of a thunderbolt. And Zeus is exactly that. Zeus also destroys, he does battle with the great Jörmungandr, the Midgard serpent and kills the serpent, saving the world. So, there is this pattern of Indra everywhere across India and all the way west to the Nordic countries. To answer question, to summarize, Zeus is a Greek god, but yes, he originates from India as Indra
